Camera woes and Cookie Pictures

Here's the deal about my camera... first of all, It was a total cheapo camera when I bought it. But it worked. It took pictures. Life is busy and expensive and I was determined to make do. Except now the little latch that holds the batteries in has broken. So if you want to turn the camera on, you have to hold the latch shut with your thumb. It isn't that big of a deal until, you know, your thumb goes numb from squeezing your camera so hard. And then there is the whole inconvenience of not being able to move the camera, or put it down, or turn it around because if you lose your grip on the little battery latch, the whole thing will turn off and the batteries will fall and land on your bare toe. Yes, yes... I've tried taping it shut. But it's sort of in an awkward place and if I use enough tape to hold it shut, I end up covering up important components of the camera.

So.

I need a new one. (And a good one, too. You know, one that will take good pictures, and turn on and stuff) I know this, but spending money makes my feet itch. I am also tremendously overwhelmed by the camera options that exist in the world today. I have no idea what to buy, or how much I should reasonably spend. I'm hoping someone will just make the decision for me since my birthday is next month. Ahem. (subtle, yes?)

BUT.

I did pull my camera out and take some pictures tonight. Would you like to see?

Tis me right here, looking tired-ish and craving a cookie.

And so the remainder of the sugar cookie dough was pulled from the freezer and quite impatiently thawed out. While waiting for the oven to preheat, I may or may not have done this, a time or two. Or ten. (What? You never dip raw cookie dough in frosting?)

And then the cookies were made. And I was happy.

And then they were frosted and I was even happier. (See? I told you they looked like Loft House cookies. I should go replace the picture from my last post with um, a picture of the cookies I actually made.)

Then my dog came into the kitchen and gave me sad, "give me a cookie" eyes.

I was unmoved. I really like my cookies. So I ate one or two. Or three. Or... no. It really was just three. After three, I started to feel like this.

So I stopped. And that was the end of my night. Except not really, cause I'm blogging and will be writing poetry as soon as I'm done. (For a class... not because I enjoy it. Reading poetry? Sure. Writing poetry? Can I please just have a root canal instead?)

Did you see my cute puppy up there? I haven't talked about him lately. OH, how I love him. When I stay up late to do school work or blog or whatever, he always comes and sits on the couch to keep me company.  He loves to ride in the car when I go pick up the kids from school. He barks and runs in his sleep which is so very funny. He follows me all over the house. He loves my baby and gets very upset when she cries... BEST DOG EVER. Amen, and Amen.
