A few items of Business

First, a reminder that you can still enter to win Mat Kearney's new album, Young Love, through Monday. This is such a great CD. If you haven't entered, it's easy! Just leave a comment on the Giveaway post, or earn extra entries doing one of the things listed in the post: Win Two copies of Mat Kearney's Young Love

Second, it's been quite a while since I've run regular Servicemen Sunday features. I'll be honest, when my friend Terry, the first spotlight that I ran, was killed in Afghanistan, it knocked the wind out of my sails quite a bit. But men and women are still serving, still sacrificing, and still deserve our gratitude. Do you know of someone who deserves to be featured? Are you a military family that wouldn't mind sending me a few pictures and answering a few questions? I'd love to hear from you if you are, or if you know someone who is. If you click on the Servicemen Sunday link above, you can read about our featured families/individuals. If you have any questions, or to let me know you're interested, click on the contact me tab above, and send me an email.

And finally, next week I'm teaching a class at a Women's Conference on finding joy in the every day with small children. It's a challenge to be sure, but one that has huge rewards. To celebrate this ever important topic, and to share with you the material I've prepared for my class, I'm running a Joyful Mothering Series on the blog throughout the month of September. Since I certainly don't have all the answers, I'd love to know your thoughts on what it means to be a joyful, deliberate mother.(Though my class focuses on small children, because that's the life I'm living right now, I know that joyful mothering continues well beyond diapers and potty training. I'd love to hear from those of you that are mothering teenagers joyfully too.) After each post, you'll have the opportunity to link up your own posts about joyful mothering, newly written, or plundered from your archives so we can all learn and gain inspiration from one another. I hope you'll participate. The first post will be up next week, so start thinking about joyful mothering and prepare to link up! Our first topic? The Saving Grace of Saying I'm Sorry
