So much for perfect attendance...

Wow. we made it four whole days before Jordan woke up with a fever and had to take a sick day from school. That's a smart kid that is healthy as a horse all summer and saves his sick days for the first week of 1st grade. So much for perfect attendance. How do kids manage to have perfect attendance, anyway? Is there an immunity to childhood virus gene? Because it always seems like it's the same kids that manage to make it through with perfect attendance. Perhaps it isn't that they don't ever get sick... it's just that they go to school sick so as not to smudge their perfect record. They then, in turn get other kids sick who don't really care about perfect attendance and would rather stay home watching movies and drinking gingerale all day.

I wish that's what I did on my sick days. But alas, I have entered the world of mommyhood where you aren't allowed to be sick... because no matter how terrible you feel, children still need to be fed, and clothed and bathed and entertained with something other than the television all day. How dare they require the basic necessities of life when Mommy doesn't feel like sitting up!
