Knock Knock jokes gone wrong...

Do your kids tell jokes? My kids love to tell jokes.

And when they don't know any jokes to tell, they like to make up jokes... especially knock, knock jokes. I guess cause knock, knock jokes are all the same format, it's easy to make them up. But that doesn't mean they have to make sense. And they DON'T. Ever. Make. Sense.

I used to laugh anyway... because what little kid deserves to have their ego shattered when they tell a joke that isn't a little bit funny. I'm the Mom. I always laugh. But I'm starting to wonder if this is a good idea. What happens when one of these made up jokes is recycled at school to an audience of eager friends, who, when the joke is done, simply stare at your kid, confused and uncomfortable while Mr. eager made up joke teller, laughs out loud and slaps his own knee?

Not funny, kid. Just not funny.

Knock Knock.

Who's there?

Jacket.

Jacket who?

Open the door silly, it's cold outside!

What?!?
