So, I know I said Saturday evening I would post a winner. And that was my goal.
Really.
It was.
But here's the thing.
Friday night, I went out with some girlfriends. We went out to dinner, and then went back to Inkmom's house where we talked until just before the birds started chirping. We knew this would happen. It happens every time. Last time, when I was driving home at 4 AM, a nice policeman pulled me over. I wasn't speeding, but I think he was bored and was curious to know what some woman was doing out and about in a minivan at 4 AM. He was a nice guy, and it was delightful to hear about his triplet grandchildren, but um, I kind of wanted to get home BEFORE the sun came up. For this reason, and because really, it just isn't practical to drive 90 minutes home in the middle of the night, we decided this past weekend needed to be a sleepover.
And so it was. When we realized that while we're all good with little sleep, no sleep is absolutely not an option, we retired to our separate corners of Inkmom's house. After three very brief hours of sleep, I had pound cake and hot chocolate for breakfast, then made the wearisome journey back to my own home town.
I was tired. T.I.R.E.D.
After lunch with my family, my darling husband sent me to bed. There, I slept, and slept, and then slept some more. It was lovely. So lovely, in fact, that I didn't give my silly little blog one smidgen of a thought.
So here I am, late, which isn't all that unusual (wanna vouch for that Valerie?), but still happy to announce the winner of Five for Fighting's new album, Slice.
Steph, at Diapers and Divinity was the randomly selected commenter and will be receiving her copy sometime this week. Yay! Steph, I hope you love your album and I hope many of you that didn't win decide to buy it. Because really. It's awesome in so many ways.
