Rejection Stinketh.

So, I thought about not posting about my first rejection letter. I mean, what could I say about it?

It royally stunk. The end.

Except, I can't write about my writing journey and only include the good stuff. How realistic is that? So, you get the bad news too.

Rejection came. It wasn't fun. I'm dealing with it.

And really, I AM dealing with it. Publishing company number one has a very limited list of fiction that they choose to publish. They DO publish fiction, but it isn't their main focus. I anticipated that if rejection came from anywhere, it would probably be from them. So best to get it over with early, right?

I haven't yet submitted to publishing company number 2. I'm preparing, breathing, reworking my cover/query letter and trying to make sure I have met their guidelines and requirements as perfectly as possible.

This particular company focuses more on fiction and fits a bit better with the style of book I have written. I hope.

So there ya have it. I'm still trying, still hoping, and still waiting. And... I'm still writing. So that's good, right?
